FAQ

 Q    Personal Fireworks?
A     Absolutely no fireworks of any kind are allowed on campus (includes quite a large area around the dorms).

While Jefferson County (where the school is) does allow some kinds of fireworks, none are allowed on the Colorado School of Mines Campus.

Q     What about fireworks shows?
A     The Denver Metro has fireworks shows scheduled for all of the evenings while we are together.  I don't think any will be visible from the Mines campus.  The ones that would have been, have been canceled.  We will keep an eye on the schedules and see what is happening while we are there.

Q     How are we addressing COVID?
A
We ask that all adults (18 and up) who attend the Reunion be fully vaccinated and that children be vaccinated or have a negative test result.  We very much want to protect all but especially our oldest generation and ask everyone to act accordingly.  As we have all done for two years now, we will keep an eye on any changing circumstances as we get closer to the Reunion weekend.

Q     Weather?
A     The Forecast calls for highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s with afternoon thunderstorms possible.  So Colorado is happening!

Make sure you have a jacket for those cool mornings and possible rainy afternoons and cool evenings.  Afternoon thrunderstorms are usually exciting but short.

Q     Bartenders and BYOB?  What is going on?
A     Technically, in order to have alcohol at our events we have to have a Mines provided bartender serve to us.  The bartender will serve whatever we bring and place with the  bartender.  The re-union will pay the bartender.  I am sure the bartender will appreciate tips but otherwise individuals will not have to pay anything.

The Reunion will supply some basic Beer and Wine Friday evening the 1st.  BYOB for any other drinks and all drinks the rest of the weekend.  Ice and coolers will be available at the Bartender events.

Q     How can I get from Denver International Airport (DIA) to Golden?
A
There are many options!

You can ride the train (RTD Lines A and W) to within a couple miles of the Colorado School of Mines where a cousin can easily pick you up.

Q     Where do I park?
A     Parking is a couple of blocks to the east of Maple Hall.   There is also street parking available.  Please check signage carefully.

The parking lots are currently charging for parking on Friday afternoon until 5 pm.  Also note the lots are pay by app type lots so they might not be checking Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend.  We are working with the school to eliminate the charge.

However, there is vehicle access to Maple Hall for unloading and loading purposes.
